ByNina | In Adoptable Cats, FIV+

I’m meowing here, I’m meowing here! Well, not really, I’m actually a pretty mellow guy. Did you happen to notice my cute and big, puffy cheeks too? I was originally found as a stray cat in Long Branch, and since I was friendly, it wasn’t long before I came out to the adoption floor after coming to the MCSPCA. I am very lucky because most shelters will euthanize FIV positive kitties, but not here!

I am a little shy at the moment, but I will feel so much better after you spend a little time petting me. I know I will be at my best when I’m in a home getting lots of love and play, and extra soft beds to sleep in. I can’t tell you if I’ve ever been around other cats before, but I could try if they are friendly and mellow like me. I’d be very happy having you all to myself too!

I know I am the new best friend you’ve been looking for!

I am FIV+, which means that my immune system can be weaker than the average cat. This isn’t a problem as long as I am kept inside and up-to-date on vet visits and vaccinations. FIV+ kitties typically run into problems when they are left outdoors to fend for themselves. Lucky for me, I am done with my outdoor days!!!! FIV is only transmitted from cat-to-cat through reproduction and bite wounds. My FIV+ status doesn’t bother me one bit and I hope you don’t care either! I know you’ll love having me around for sure!!!
