Meet Sir Isaac Mewton! I’m a sweet, chatty 6-year-old guy who loves people! The sides of my face and under my chin are my favorite spots for pets. I can be playful when in the mood, but most of the time you can find me loafing on a cozy blanket (probably pondering gravity and physics… normal cat stuff).

I was a stray who came in looking rough – the outside life was hard on me and I am more than ready to retire! When I got here, I had a condition called entropion, which made my eyelid grow inwards. Lucky me had surgery here courtesy of the VVH and now I feel soooo much better. I also previously had ringworm, but I have been extensively treated over the course of several weeks. I had to meet the MCSPCA’s strict protocol in order to be medically cleared for adoption. Just one more thing: I am on a special prescription diet to support my food sensitivities. My shelter friends will send you home with a month’s supply to get started – the lifetime of friendship is on me!

I don’t seem to like other cats at all, so I want it to be just us at home. Newton might have three laws, but I just have one – LOVE ME!

Things to Know

We only do adoptions in person
Please bring equipment needed for your new pet
You will fill out a survey and meet with a counselor
Most adoptions take an hour or so to complete
Adoption process must begin 1-hour before closing

We are open to the public for walk-ins! If you are interested in adopting a dog, please be aware that our adoption floor is not open to walk through as we have found stress-levels, fear and anxiety of our dogs have decreased by limiting foot traffic. This results in a calmer living environment and a huge reduction of stress related behaviors. We have found that happier, less stressed dogs, ultimately lead to more successful adoptions too! Anyone who visits our shelter can view photos, bios, and videos of our available dogs and speak with an adoption counselor to meet any dog in one of our “meet and greet” rooms or our fenced in park. The cat floor is open to walk through.

You can save time and fill out a survey online, they are also available at the shelter. Completing a survey does not secure any animal for adoption. You do not need to submit a survey to visit, nor do you need to receive a response to a survey to visit (unless specifically noted on a post or bio). The survey is NOT an application that needs approval.

Dogs

Dogs 7 years and older: $125
Dogs over 6 months: $275
Puppies under 6 months: $600 (there is an additional $75 fee for Puppy 101 behavior class with a $50 reimbursement for optional continued training following Puppy 101)

Cat Adoption Fees

Cats 7 years and older: $75
Cats over 6 months: $175
Kittens under 6 months: $250

We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

We cannot accept checks for adoption fees.
