Open For Walk-Ins Every Day!

I’m Rocco, a 3-year-old Mixed breed brindle boy weighing a mighty triple-digit 114 pounds. Surrendered to the MCSPCA when my home didn’t truly understand me, I’m looking for another chance at my forever!

I’m one particular big guy who needs a patient adopter willing to mix it up on our daily walks. Known to stop and take in my surroundings; various sights, smells, and paths will help me to keep it moving. While I tend to move slowly on walks, I would love if my adopters moved slowly with the handling. More of a strong, silent type kinda guy, I’ll need to warm up to new faces and their affectionate pets. In time, I will bond amazingly and you’ll be able to tell that I’m over the moon when you see my tail wag!

Not one to share my food or toys…I would prefer to enjoy them alone in peace. Whoops, did I accidentally grab something of yours? Just toss a treat my way and you will be good to go. Another thing I would prefer to enjoy all to myself is your undivided attention! Being the only spoiled dog would definitely make me a happy boy!

Want to add a short and stout stud to your home? The Monmouth County SPCA is open for walk-ins every day, starting at noon!

How to Adopt a Pet

Can't adopt? Join our Sponsor a Pet Program!

Adoption Hours:

Monday 12-5pm

Tuesday 12-5pm

Wednesday 12-7pm

Thursday 12-7pm

Friday 12-7pm

Saturday/Sunday 12-5pm

We only do adoptions in person (please bring all family members).

We will ask you to fill out an Adoption Survey and speak with an Adoption Counselor to help find your perfect match!

We are open to the public for walk-ins!

You can save time and fill out a survey online, they are also available at the shelter. Completing a survey does not secure any animal for adoption. You do not need to submit a survey to visit, nor do you need to receive a response to a survey to visit. The survey is NOT an application that needs approval.

Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment, so finding the right match is very important.

Finding the perfect pet takes time. The process usually takes at least an hour, so please plan accordingly. All adoption paperwork must be submitted to the front desk one hour before closing.

Adopters are encouraged to bring their own carrier or leash and collar.
