ByNina | In Adoptable Cats, FIV+

Hi, future family! Looking for a sweet, fun, and loving 7-year young cat? You’ve found him! I came to the MCSPCA from Ocean County Animal Facility in Toms River. Sadly, many shelters euthanize FIV+ cats because they are more likely to get sick when exposed to germs. Like with your children at school, illnesses such as head colds can circulate easily in a shelter with so many fellow felines hanging around. Since many shelters have limited resources to care for so many animals (sick or otherwise), they have no choice but to euthanize the sickest ones. Unfortunately, FIV+ kitties are always at the top of the list.

Luckily for me, the MCSPCA does NOT euthanize FIV+ kitties! They offered to take me in and fine me a home. Isn’t that great?? I may be a little shy at first, but once I meet a new person, I love being petted, and I will purr and rub you back. I have been told that I’m quite the conversationalist because I like to meow so much! I can’t tell you what my life was like before living in the shelters, but I could live with another kind and mellow cat like me, or I could be your #1 man. When you bring me home, you’ll have an amazing friend for years to come!
