Open For Walk-Ins Every Day!

I’m Matrix a 2-year-old Mixed Breed boy weighing 62 pounds of wiggly muscle! Having been with my previous owner since I was small puppy, I’ve been surrendered back to my original shelter stomping grounds after I was told I was too much work. Forgetting my past, I’m only looking ahead and hoping my new family is willing to put in the time and energy it takes to help me thrive!

A smiley stud who has a huge zest for life, would be a great companion for an active household. One big and tall boy, I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my people, whether it be sniffing out new walking trails or running after stuffed toys in a yard. My new adopters need to be prepared for my athletic ability, as I tend to get so excited being outside that I can get powerful on leash. When it’s time to decompress and chillax, don’t be surprised if I ask for all the belly rubs you can give me!

If you’re looking for a companion that brings the sunshine with him wherever he goes, I’m the one for you! The Monmouth County SPCA is open for walk-ins every day, starting at noon!

How to Adopt a Pet

Can't adopt? Join our Sponsor a Pet Program!

Adoption Hours:

Monday 12-5pm

Tuesday 12-5pm

Wednesday 12-7pm

Thursday 12-7pm

Friday 12-7pm

Saturday/Sunday 12-5pm

We only do adoptions in person (please bring all family members).

We will ask you to fill out an Adoption Survey and speak with an Adoption Counselor to help find your perfect match!

We are open to the public for walk-ins!

You can save time and fill out a survey online, they are also available at the shelter. Completing a survey does not secure any animal for adoption. You do not need to submit a survey to visit, nor do you need to receive a response to a survey to visit. The survey is NOT an application that needs approval.

Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment, so finding the right match is very important.

Finding the perfect pet takes time. The process usually takes at least an hour, so please plan accordingly. All adoption paperwork must be submitted to the front desk one hour before closing.

Adopters are encouraged to bring their own carrier or leash and collar.
