Have you ever had your very own meet-cute? No? Well, that’s because you haven’t met me yet! I’m Costar, and I was found outdoors, but I’ve decided I like living inside much better. So roll out the red carpet – this 2-year-old boy is ready to move in!

I might have a bit of stage fright at first, but I’m a true softy on the inside. All it takes is some yummy snacks and gentle pets on my cheeks and head, and before you know it I’ll be purring and showing off! I would still prefer a calm, quiet home so I can work through the last of my shyness.

I am also FIV+. FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and means that my immune system is weaker than a cat without FIV. Being FIV+ does not affect my quality of life one bit. With an FIV+ cat, the most important thing is to try to avoid unnecessary stressors as well as other cats that are sick, since FIV+ cats are more likely to catch an illness if they are exposed to it.

If you have a supporting cast of other calm and gentle kitties, that’s fine with me, or I’m happy to have the spotlight to myself. Either way, I’m sure we’ll get along famously!

Things to Know

We only do adoptions in person
Please bring equipment needed for your new pet
You will fill out a survey and meet with a counselor
Most adoptions take an hour or so to complete
Adoption process must begin 1-hour before closing

We are open to the public for walk-ins! If you are interested in adopting a dog, please be aware that our adoption floor is not open to walk through as we have found stress-levels, fear and anxiety of our dogs have decreased by limiting foot traffic. This results in a calmer living environment and a huge reduction of stress related behaviors. We have found that happier, less stressed dogs, ultimately lead to more successful adoptions too! Anyone who visits our shelter can view photos, bios, and videos of our available dogs and speak with an adoption counselor to meet any dog in one of our “meet and greet” rooms or our fenced in park. The cat floor is open to walk through.

You can save time and fill out a survey online, they are also available at the shelter. Completing a survey does not secure any animal for adoption. You do not need to submit a survey to visit, nor do you need to receive a response to a survey to visit (unless specifically noted on a post or bio). The survey is NOT an application that needs approval.

Dogs

Dogs 7 years and older: $125
Dogs over 6 months: $275
Puppies under 6 months: $600 (there is an additional $75 fee for Puppy 101 behavior class with a $50 reimbursement for optional continued training following Puppy 101)

Cat Adoption Fees

Cats 7 years and older: $75
Cats over 6 months: $175
Kittens under 6 months: $250

We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

We cannot accept checks for adoption fees.
