Open For Walk-Ins Every Day!

I’m Aoki, a 2-year-old Pitbull Mix with mesmerizing eyes weighing 70 pounds. Found as a stray, I was grazed by a passing car. Thankfully a “good sam” brought me to the MCSPCA where my wounds were treated and now I’m all set to find my forever home!

One sharp fella, I know some skills such as Sit, Down, Paw, Roll Over, and I’m even working on Touch! When I’m not showing off my cool commands, I’m a dude who is ready to play. Choo Choo! It’s going to be “full steam ahead” with me as this big boy likes to run like a train. A fenced yard would be ideal, allowing me to get my energetic zoomies out of my system. Bouncy and active at times, it’s always best to go slow with me as I get used to both my adopters and my new surroundings.

As for canine pals, I have played with some dogs here at the shelter, so I could go home with a well-matched companion!

Looking to add a furry ball of energy into your heart and home? Your life will be more than A-OK with me! The Monmouth County SPCA is open for walk-ins every day, starting at noon!

How to Adopt a Pet

Can't adopt? Join our Sponsor a Pet Program!

Adoption Hours:

Monday 12-5pm

Tuesday 12-5pm

Wednesday 12-7pm

Thursday 12-7pm

Friday 12-7pm

Saturday/Sunday 12-5pm

We only do adoptions in person (please bring all family members).

We will ask you to fill out an Adoption Survey and speak with an Adoption Counselor to help find your perfect match!

We are open to the public for walk-ins!

You can save time and fill out a survey online, they are also available at the shelter. Completing a survey does not secure any animal for adoption. You do not need to submit a survey to visit, nor do you need to receive a response to a survey to visit. The survey is NOT an application that needs approval.

Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment, so finding the right match is very important.

Finding the perfect pet takes time. The process usually takes at least an hour, so please plan accordingly. All adoption paperwork must be submitted to the front desk one hour before closing.

Adopters are encouraged to bring their own carrier or leash and collar.
