King

ByNina | In Adoptable Cats, FIV+

Yup-king of the jungle, that’s me! How can you look at my face and not fall in love? I have a big lovable personality to match my amazing looks. I am about 3 years young. I am very friendly and outgoing. I love to be around people and I know you’ll love having me around!!!

I came to the MCSPCA from another shelter in North Carolina. I am FIV+, which means that my immune system can be weaker than the average cat. This isn’t a problem as long as I am kept inside and up-to-date on vet visits and vaccinations. FIV+ kitties typically run into problems when they are left outdoors to fend for themselves. It is transmitted through reproduction and bite wounds, which is why it is common for un-neutered Tomcats to be affected.

The reason I came from North Carolina is because often, kitties with a positive FIV status are euthanized at shelters. Since they are more prone to contagious illnesses when exposed to them, FIV+ kitties that are housed in a stressful situation with other cats that aren’t feeling well, they are more likely to contract, and have a hard time recovering from, being sick. An animal shelter is like a nursery school where, when one individual gets a cold, everyone else gets it too! Many shelters don’t have the resources to treat sick kitties, so they are euthanized. Luckily for me, a wonderful rescue in NC pulled me from death row and sent me to the MCSPCA where I could find YOU!!!!!

I will truly make an awesome pet. I am unique and awesome. I get along with other kitty cats too. I know that once you meet me, you’ll decide you cannot live without me, so please come say hi to me!!!!
