Other Ways to Help

Pet Promotion Program: Through our Pet Promotion Program, we want to make information about our cats and dogs available to as many people as possible throughout the community.

Donation Pickup: We get calls from people all the time who want to donate things like pet food and need someone to go get it for us and bring it to the shelter.

Pet Therapy: Volunteers and their own personal pets visit nursing homes etc. to help bring cheer and comfort to people who need it. Volunteers would be required to complete a handlers course and their pet must be evaluated for the program. Volunteers would need to be available during the weekdays. This position also requires a background check and Volunteer Orientation.

Handy Person: We desperately need someone to do small fix-it jobs around the shelter. Any time available would be greatly appreciated!

Adoption Outreaches: Help with PetsMart and Petco adoption outreaches, where we bring our dogs and cats every weekend. Periodically, we hold Adoption Events at places like Sickles Market and Atlantic Farms. Adoption Outreaches require transport and handling of dogs, help with cats, clerical help etc. Please come to a volunteer meeting if you are interested in helping out with adoption events and help get our animals loving homes!

Lost and Found: What a wonderful way to help both owners and pets. To help someone reunite with a lost loved pet is so heartwarming! We are looking for someone to help on a regular basis.

There are many more ways you can help. Please come to our volunteer meeting and find out more!
