Hi, friends!! Aren’t I stunning? I’m very sweet too. I’m a 12 year old beauty who came to the MCSPCA from another shelter in New Jersey. I am FIV+, which means that my immune system can be weaker than the average cat. This isn’t a problem as long as I am kept inside and up-to-date on vet visits and vaccinations. FIV+ kitties typically run into problems when they are left outdoors to fend for themselves. It is only transmitted from cat-to-cat through reproduction and bite wounds.

The reason I came from another shelter is because often, kitties with a positive FIV status are euthanized at shelters. Since they are more prone to contagious illnesses when exposed to them, FIV+ kitties that are housed in a stressful situation with other cats that aren’t feeling well, they are more likely to contract, and have a hard time recovering from, being sick.

An animal shelter is like a nursery school where, when one individual gets a cold, everyone else gets it too! Many shelters don’t have the resources to treat sick kitties, so they are euthanized. Luckily for me, I was pulled from death row and sent me to the MCSPCA where I could find YOU!!!!!
