Take a trip back in time with the Monmouth County SPCA (MCSPCA) for three days of Peace, Love and Adoptions during WOOFStock 2011. Can you dig it? See what a difference a little love can make by letting it all hang out and adopting a hot diggity dog or cool cat during the Three Day Adoption Celebration.
The MCSPCA is keepin’ it real by participating in the ASPCA $100K Challenge. This is a three month national competition of 50 animal welfare organizations to save a minimum of 300 more lives this year. Recently the standings were announced as the first month ended on August 31st and the MCSPCA is in 12th place with 350 lives saved, which is a righteous 103 more lives saved in 2011!
While this is a cool way to start the competition the MCSPCA doesn’t want to zone out, which is why they are getting ready to rock on with WOOFstock. SO, put on your best tie-dye, love beads and any other psychedelic fashions that you can find to help us spread the word and get the animals of the MCSPCA adopted. The Three Day Adoption Celebration will start on Friday, September 23rd with groovy donation only adoptions for all animals over four months and funky adoption swag bags for all adopters.
Once you have adopted your new pooch you can bring out your inner hippie at the MCSPCA 18th Annual Grateful Dog Walk on October 1st at Brookdale, Community College from 10am – 2pm. Don’t have a dog to take for a walk? You can still have a blast by shopping at all of the animal-friendly vendors and helping to support your favorite walker by visiting www.mcspcadogwalk.org.
Every week the MCSPCA receives transports of some far out puppies from overcrowded shelters so that they can save a life while keeping with the animal welfare message of “opt to adopt.” Perhaps a fab kitten is what you had in mind. Every September the Homeward Bound Adoption Center is filled to capacity and it is due to what is commonly referred to as kitten season. These kittens are the result of the free love that occurs when cats are left to roam free without being spayed or neutered.
Don’t be a drag man; get to the MCSPCA to check out all of the outta sight animals, because while the summer may be ending the love will never stop with a four legged friend in your life.
